As the President of the OBSC, I am proud to reflect on the transformative impact our club has had on its members over the last three years. Joining our club means becoming part of a supportive and inclusive community where teamwork, discipline, and perseverance are encouraged and celebrated. Our members range from seasoned shooters to novices, and this diversity enriches our experience. Each practice session and competition offer a unique opportunity for personal growth and camaraderie.
Our club’s mission goes beyond mastering the art of shooting. We are committed to promoting safety and sportsmanship, through training and a focus on competitive environments, to set up our teams for away competitions.
One of the most rewarding aspects of leading this club has been witnessing the incredible progress and achievements of our members over the last three. From the excitement of our first successful competition to the joy of seeing new members discover their love for the sport and most importantly creating a sense of home where everyone feels included.
For anyone considering joining, I can confidently say that OBSC is more than just a sports team; it’s a family that values hard work and mutual respect. Whether you are aiming to refine your shooting skills or simply looking for a rewarding extracurricular activity, our club offers a unique and enriching experience for you.
Chairman/Treasurer: Brendan O'shea
As Chairman and Treasurer, my primary goal is to ensure the club runs smoothly while safeguarding both its future and the well-being of its members, so that everyone can continue enjoying all the fun it offers for years to come.
In my role as Treasurer, I’d like to highlight how we use the membership fees you provide. These contributions go toward organising memorable socials, helping cover the costs of discounts, booze, lights, speakers, and more. A significant portion is also allocated to subsidising weekly shooting sessions, making sure everyone can participate without financial strain. Additionally, funds are used to reduce the cost of equipment and to make our club stash more affordable, allowing everyone to proudly represent the club in competitions.
Shooting is a popular sport, and we aim to raise as much as possible for charity through special events like 'Country Bumpkins,' which is a great success thanks to your support. Our Poly Ball, for example, raised thousands for The Prince's Trust. Every penny we receive is re-invested into club activities or charity efforts. Your continued support helps us grow, promote inclusivity, and leave a lasting legacy, ensuring that we can keep enjoying the club and supporting various charities for many years to come.

Welcome to the club! OBSC is renowned for it’s esteemed shooting prowess as well as its electric social environment. A lot of planning has gone into this year. Within our amazing team, we have been working hard to provide not only an amazing competitive experience but also an unmatched sense of community and fun when not shooting clays!
As a club we are incredibly inviting and I speak for the whole club when I say how excited we are to meet you all. The past two years our club has had some major success and I am incredibly excited to see some new members added to the teams to ensure we continue our revered dominance.
As a member that joined the club later than others, I was elated with the sense of family I experienced and I hope you do to! As a club with over 350 members last year, we are looking to expand our arsenal of talented social and competitive members, so regardless of your talent, join the best club at Brookes!

Oxford Brookes Shooting Club has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. Having been a member of this prestigious club since I joined Oxford Brookes, I have personally seen the innovations and strategies used to further develop our club. My main focus for this year is communications and organisation. This year we see the return of the ‘Poly Ball’, an event which we host other shooting clubs from around the UK to celebrate the achievements and relationships that are formed through our sport.
I will be moving forward with all new communications through social media and other avenues to make sure that everyone knows what it going on within the club. OBSC is a perfect place to improve your connections with our members and sport, or even start anew. The club is more welcoming than ever, and we can’t wait to meet you and get you involved with everything we do. Our club is your club.
